Our journey begins from where Edinburgh germinated..."The Old Town". Your informative driver/guide shall tell you all about Edinburgh becoming the capital of Scotland in 1437 (replacing Scone) and being the seat of the Scottish Parliament.
Arriving at Edinburgh Castle, you are free to walk the Royal Mile taking in the lovely shops and places of interest like St.Giles Cathedral and the Royal Museum of Scotland. At the opposite end of the Royal Mile is Holyrood Palace, Scottish residence of our monarch, Queen Elizabeth. Your driver shall meet with you again at a pre-arranged time and we head to Edinburgh's "New Town".
This was an 18th century solution to the problem of an increasingly crowded Old Town. The varied terrain of the city includes several summits which command sweeping views over Edinburgh.
